THE PEOPLE

CHRIS DICKINSON

Chris was born and raised on a livestock farm in Cumbria specialising in Dairy, Sheep, Beef and more latterly Poultry. He attended Newcastle University studying Agribusiness Management before starting his working life in agriculture as a fieldsman. Chris then spent 6 years at the NFU as both National Poultry Advisor and Yorkshire County Advisor before returning home to the family farm in 2016 and starting a goat meat enterprise supplying high-end retailers, wholesalers and restaurants around the UK. Chris has also helped grow the family farm and led the move into finishing Wagyu cattle where they now house around 100 Wagyus at one time which have replaced more traditional breeds. He  also works as a sales and business development consultant in the beef and poultry industry. In 2016 Chris was awarded a Lord Henry Plumb Scholarship aimed to help grow the next generation of agricultural leaders. Says Chris: “I am really looking forward to joining the British Wagyu Breeders Association and feel I can help out in many areas, I have a lot of experience in social media and think I can help educate consumers on Wagyu beef. I believe food provenance is going to become even more important going forward and I will make sure that British Wagyu makes the most of this.”
